  • RBI will issue new Rs.50 banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi Series

The Reserve Bank of India has recently decided to issue Rs 50 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005. The upcoming notes will have inset letter ‘L’, ‘R’ in both the number panels with the signature of RBI Governor Dr. Urjit R.Patel. The year of printing ‘2016’ will be printed on the reverse of the banknote.

  • PM launched major skill Development Projects in Kanpur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched major skill Development Projects in Kanpur. The main aim this Project is to make the youth more employable and self-reliant. The Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Ministry has joined hands with Institute of Technical Education, Singapore. The ministry has decided to establish six institutes. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate Kaushal Pradarshini (skill exhibition) for the youth of Uttar Pradesh.

Chief minister Harish Rawat unveiled the statue of renowned Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar on the premises of Mela Bhawan in Haridwar. This statue is a 12-foot-tall stone statue. Thiruvalluvar is renowned Tamil poet and philosopher.

Veteran Malayalam actor K N Jagannatha Varma passed away in Thiruvananthapuram after prolonged pneumonia. He was 77 years old at the time of the death. The actor is known for his hit films like New Delhi, Pathram, and Lelam.
